Proposal & Pitch (For Film)

I believe that my film poster strongly targets my audience because it includes pictures of a few of the stars which shows them looking straight directly at you. The background image especially with Megan Fox, i feel like this strongly targets the audience because it would encourage them to look more into the poster or even want to watch the film itself. The use of adding cars to the poster also targets my audience to give them an idea of what exactly this film is going to be about. The use of Kevin Spacey is very unique and also different to the rest of the characters on the poster because he is along the main characters but then again he isn't on their side since he is the villain. Comparing Kevin Spacey to other films such as Swimming With Sharks, Superman Returns & Horrible Bosses, he is always associated with the villain role and this could lead to the people viewing the poster knowing that Kevin Spacey is the villain in this film. I've decided to use a dark lighting as I feel like it creates a sense to the audience that there is going to be elements of darkness. The use of the black background also encourages my target audience to pay more attention to the actors and the content on the poster too. The only things with a bright colour are the title and the cars. The main reason for this is because i wanted the cars to stick out since the film is mainly about the cars. The title is in an orange font and in a bold bubble writing. If the title wasn't in a bright colour then it wouldn't of been attractive to the eye of my target audience. The use of the font being in a bright colour encourages the audience to get to know more about the film. In the poster i also included the tagline "Be Strong, Be Fast, Period." The reason why i used this as my tagline is because it would click straight away in the viewer of this poster that this is going to be an action film, for example, words such as "Strong" and "Fast" would attract a action movie lover's attention. I'm choosing too release my film by the end of the year 2017 because I feel like my film is going to the be the best thing to ever happen in 2017 so it is best to save it for last and let the Box Office commence with the income then.
So my film would be in cinemas December 2017 and would be released on DVD a couple weeks into the year 2018. But before the initial release of DVDs, i would set up a fan page as these are a lot popular and it can promote my film and bring more people by sharing ideas and their thoughts of this film. At the same time this would go viral because a lot of people will be sharing the links with their friends and families and hopefully it would end up on social media platforms such as Snapchat and Instagram and this would keep bringing more people in to watching and reviewing my film too.
Alternate ways i'd love to promote my film is by showing the trailer on YouTube videos, this is a very effective way of promoting my film because it will instantly catch the person's attention and wanting to know more about my film. I'd also prefer my film to be promoted a big billboard in the same format as the poster as it will bring much more attraction to the eye than the poster because a billboard is much bigger and it gets to show every little detail clearly. I'd prefer not to promote my film off radio because there's no way to describe my film the same as or even better than the way it is seen on poster/trailer. I feel like people wouldn't even bother to search it up after hearing it on the radio because they're either lazy or haven't got the free time on their hands.
The distributor of my film is going to be Universal Pictures and i know that this will get shown in cinemas because they are a worldwide known company. It's a major studio which is based in the American state California and their studios are main Hollywood, they also have a bigger budget than other studios and also mainstream cinema releases. This is a big advantage for me because my film would not only be shown in one country but it can get shown in multiple countries on many big screens which could make me gain profit from the production.
More about Universal Pictures; they formed in 1912 which included 9 members being part of the making, the owner (company) of  Universal Pictures is Comcast who are the worlds largest American TV broadcasting station, the parent of Universal Pictures is NBC Universal whom are big in the media side of production. Universal Pictures made popular films shot to fame such as, Fast & Furious (whole franchise), Jurassic World, Fifty Shades of Grey and King Kong. These were all films distributed by Universal Pictures and these films are still talked about today despite to most of the films that were released a couple of years ago. Universal Pictures are a worldwide area served company and they are found in 3 places across the globe, United States, France & United Kingdom. This is a real advantage for me as I have filmed this film America and also a living citizen in the UK meaning my film will get double the recognition it would get if it was only distributed by 1 studio.
My producer of this film will fund my film because it is a trending genre in the industry at the moment. As my film is an original but also related as a sequel to "Fast & Furious" Franchise, this could influence my producer to fund for my film as he knows that "Fast & Furious" is a serious and money making franchise. As I have used quite heavy star actors, this could lure in more people into watching this film and this sense of knowledge will encourage the producer to fund for this film to be out in the industry. As for the lead character, Jason Statham, he has played the lead role from major blockbusting films such as, "The Transporter" franchises, The Mechanic and Death Race. As you can tell the names are all associated with cars and my film is to do with cars too so i feel like my producer has every right to fund for my film as a big star actor is playing the lead role in another car based movie. The one and only possible way of stopping social, legal and ethical concerns such as, street racing, graphical violence, weapons & dangerous scenes, there could be a "Warning" screen before the actual movie begins stating that "Any offence or illegal act seen in this movie is not to be promoted in real life, this is a movie to satisfy the action-thriller lovers, hope you enjoy, be safe and don't speed on the roads". This can overcome social concerns because it potentially will be the first thing on the screen and it would engrave this into the viewer's head. As mentioned before, my film being related to "Fast & Furious" because of the action packed content, my film should also be put out too. The "Fast & Furious" franchise is distributed by Universal Pictures and they are also the distributors of my film too and this makes sense for my film to be released as well. Finally, since there will be big star actors in this film, the wages of each single actor is going to be high. Considering there are 8 - 10 big actors in my film it is going to be very expensive for my producer to fund them their wages, but it wouldn't really matter at the same time because big actors are being starred and when they are funded and the film is out there for the audience, that's where all the profit will start to kick in and my producer would make all that money back and beyond what he was having before.

Task 2: Styles, Conventions & Techniques Of Music Videos

Styles, Conventions & Techniques Of Music Videos Everything produced in media has codes and conventions and music videos are no exception. A code or convention is like a guideline of rules that music videos often follow that are always dependable on genre or style. The main conventions for music videos relate to camera shots and angles, editing, lyric interpretation, extending or consolidating songs meanings and allusion. Lyric Interpretation - lyrics being shown as a music video and this catches the audiences attention and it could make them sing along or even understand what the song is about. (Lyrical Video from The Chainsmokers - Closer) Extending or consolidating   - Extending or consolidating a song's meaning in a music video is when you use symbolism and things in the mis-en-scene to further push the meaning of the song or to add more of a meaning to a song or to just bring the lyrics together into a visual explanation of what the song actu...

Research Of Own Film

Name Of Film: Too Brisk, Too Quick The idea i have for making this film is a sequel of a group of people racing and also it will involve action too (bringing down villains and enemies). I hope to base my film on the famous "Fast And Furious" franchise as it is such an eye popping film and it is very interesting. Production Companies Orignal Film Relativity Media One Race Films Media Rights Capital Perfect World Pictures EuropaCorp TF1 Films Production Genre Of Film I am going to make a movie based on racing but also an involvement of Action & Drama too. The reason why i am including sub-genres is because a movie with just cars and racing could potentially become boring to most of the viewers and to avoid this from happening is by adding different scenes in to add excitement and stimulate more adrenaline through the viewer. Also by adding more genres to this film would help the film have more of a meaning to why it was made other than just cars racing for...

Single Camera Production Assignment

Introduction Single camera production is the use of one camera within the media production, whether it be a music video, short film or even a movie. Single camera production also tends to use different camera angles and often requires a lot of editing after shooting. Single camera production is commonly associated with low budget films & film companies as they haven't got sufficient funding to purchase many high quality cameras for a film production. Advantages & Disadvantages Of Single Camera Production The advantages of a single camera production is that it makes the viewer feel like they are in the scene with one continuos shot. This encourages the viewer to feel more emotions than a film with more than one camera because the use of one camera establishes that the viewer is at the exact scene in real time. Another advantage is that it is cheap, this is good for low budget film producers as they don't have as much money to purchase more than one camera. Consideri...
