Initial Ideas, Log Book, ETC.

Initial Ideas
My idea for my own single camera production is to make a selfie-styled documentary about a song/songs I've previously made and possibly record some further bits of a song that is already in the making. I could also include other hobbies such as my passion for radio presenting/producing and also performing too. I have some pre-recorded footage that I could include as my single camera production is a Documentary.
I want there to be a range of key camera shots and angles, such as close-ups, mid-range, bird's eye and eye-level. Eye-level angle is going to be the key angle for my production as various scenes may contain people holding their phones to their face and talking about how they have contributed to the song/s.
As I've got a 5 minute limit for my single camera production, I need to include key scenes as well as the angles I require them to be in. 95% of the footage is going to be filmed in college whilst the other 5% is going to be done at home as the majority of my hobbies happen there.

The filming should be done within two weeks as well as editing & putting together my production should take only a week. By the end of the production I should have the masterpiece I've always wished to create. A documentary in the style of a selfie video being taken on Snapchat.

If this does not work out such as, the quality of the front camera being poor then I would have to convert the whole production to a normal documentary but with added sense of humour just to make the production engaging as the first idea.

Location/Risk Assessment
Coulsdon College

CR5 1YA

My House, Lower Addiscombe
CR0 ***

Risk Assessment to hold out at Coulsdon College would be held in the music room as that's where most of the footage would be shot in there. Risks like cables everywhere could lead to someone tripping up, a lot of electronic equipment that is already pre-set up such as, Mac computer, midi keyboard, microphone and PA Speakers. To ensure nobody gets electrocuted or the equipment to damage, the equipment needs to be switched off if not in use.

Risk Assessment in my house which is located in Lower Addiscombe is to ensure that my house is a safe place to bring rented equipment such as a camera and a tripod so I can film additional scenes. I'm going to be filming in my bedroom as that's where all of my equipment is and it is completely a safe and tidy place to record footage for my single camera production.

Evaluation

My final production resulted to something different to what I had planned. The order of shots and scenes were placed in a different order opposing to the suggesting storyboard. This was mainly because one of the actors was not able to make it in on the desired shooting day and it lead to me making a few last minute arrangements. The beginning of my project was to start with a flashback scene of me mixing songs as it shows what I do in my free time. The reason why I couldn't film it and include it in my video was because I didn't have a tripod at the time to place behind me and capture me actually mixing the songs in real time. As this was a problem, I decided to make an introduction with myself rapping a part of my song to the camera in selfie-mode. Despite the fact that I had to rearrange a few scenes and include new ones, the whole production didn't come out badder than I thought. I managed to fit in close-ups, mid-range shots and also a established shots too. Establish...

Evaluation

1. I think my audience's expectation would be something that catches their attention to the eye. They would expect to see a plot that encourages adrenaline which would spark the "action" to progress in the film. Commonly in an action films my audience would love to see popular stars name on the billing block before they watch the movie because it gives them a brief idea of how this movie could be like if they watch it. For example, they would base my movie on the way that actor has given a certain amount of energy to previous movies and it would encourage/discourage the audience to watch my film. In addition to that, I have included a lot of big stars to my movie so i have no doubt that my audience would be discouraged to watch my film. 2. The emotional response i would love to receive from my target audience is excitement because my movie will contain "ooh ahh" scenes and unrealistic events happening but at the same time i wouldn't want to encourage my vie...

Single Camera Production Assignment

Introduction Single camera production is the use of one camera within the media production, whether it be a music video, short film or even a movie. Single camera production also tends to use different camera angles and often requires a lot of editing after shooting. Single camera production is commonly associated with low budget films & film companies as they haven't got sufficient funding to purchase many high quality cameras for a film production. Advantages & Disadvantages Of Single Camera Production The advantages of a single camera production is that it makes the viewer feel like they are in the scene with one continuos shot. This encourages the viewer to feel more emotions than a film with more than one camera because the use of one camera establishes that the viewer is at the exact scene in real time. Another advantage is that it is cheap, this is good for low budget film producers as they don't have as much money to purchase more than one camera. Consideri...
