Individual Task

Soundtrack For Music Video: Vicardi - Nobody Else

1a) Initial Response
The genre of the song is Rap/Hip Hop and the length of the song is 3 minutes 24 seconds.
The song has a moderate pace, not too slow/not too fast but in the middle, allowing time for the listeners to understand the lyrics or even the meaning of the music video when it comes to filming.
The song is about the artist doing his own thing whilst other people do theirs & also the main message of the song is talking about how you can be successful on your own and not needing anyone else's help. So the majority of the music video i'm hoping that there are individual bits of people in my group having their scenes by themselves instead of just grouped in every shot.
Imagery, i would imagine the music video to look creative and fun. I would love to have plenty of different sorts of scenery, camera effects & angles as well to ensure i and the team get a substantial grade (Distinction).

1b) Music video production Proposal
The song was produced by me and i gave myself and my group permission to use the soundtrack of course. When i made this song i had no emotion to it, so i and people could imply that it's a hyped song because of my voice, but the song is self-explanatory by the title. Our target audience, i would say everyone in general because this song sounds inspirational instead of a typical gang violence and sexual lyrics. The conventions I would love to achieve in this music video are Illustrative, As-Live & Pastiche. The reason why i want to achieve these conventions is because i want the music video to have a good understanding, a live performance vibe to it and also i want it to be funny so it doesn't bore the viewers. I want my music video to be inspiring and not the same as the other music videos around the world today but i would love to pick tiny individual things from each of those music videos to add to my one. In my production, me and my group would need a HD camera and a tripod and other necessary props we tend to need as we progress through making our music video. The overall total budget of the music video is £1950 and this is actually going to be funded and paid for by the college as we are filming on the premises and actually using the college's equipment.

1c) Shooting Script

1. The video begins with classmates sitting together doing work until the artist who is part of that group asks them to listen to his song. He will attempt to make them listen to the whole song until one of his friends decides to stop it because he/she dislikes it. The shot that would be most suitable for this scene is a mid-range shot and the camera would have to be still as all of the characters involved are going to be stationery at one table and it would enable the viewers of the music video to see what's going on in the background too.

2. This is where the intial music video starts aligned with the soundtrack. And here the artist is going to get filmed walking down a hallway whilst the camera leads the way. The most suitable shot to record this in would be a close-up, as I would love to show the artist expressing his feelings using facial gestures. I would also want to include the artist adding in hand gestures too, to give the audience more of a clue of how he is feeling.

3. The next shot would be on a staircase and I would include two other people within that shot along side the artist. The shot that I would love to use in this scene is a long shot and I want to use this because I want to show the artist's feelings, surroundings and also the atmospheric background too. In the background the two guys are going to vibe to the beat whilst the artist mimes over the track and do his own thing. It would be preferred if the two guys moved together in sync as it would look attractive and very effective.

4. Here the artist would be filmed sitting on a bench alone to symbolise the meaning of the title 'Nobody Else', here I would want the artist to mime over the lyrics whilst the camera moves around in a swaying movement in time with the beat. The ideal type of shot that should be used is the long shot as it enables the audience to see the artist by himself and the bench and also other background settings to show the artist being isolated.

5. This would hopefully be the last shot of the music video being aligned with the soundtrack and this would be the artist going back into the building whilst the camera leads the way. The camera shot that would be used is going to be mid-range and the artist would have two people walking beside him to show how the love of the music track has grown from nothing to a lot. I'm hoping this shows a clear use of foreshadowing into the last scene of the music video.

6. Finally, the last scene of the music video ends up with the artist and the same group of people sat together and then the group decides that the whole song is actually better than they thought it was. the same shot is going to be used from the 1st scene, which was mid-range, but as they finish discussing about the song they head outside of the classroom. The camera would follow their movement but it would stay stationery to indicate the end of the music video.

Task 2: Styles, Conventions & Techniques Of Music Videos

Styles, Conventions & Techniques Of Music Videos Everything produced in media has codes and conventions and music videos are no exception. A code or convention is like a guideline of rules that music videos often follow that are always dependable on genre or style. The main conventions for music videos relate to camera shots and angles, editing, lyric interpretation, extending or consolidating songs meanings and allusion. Lyric Interpretation - lyrics being shown as a music video and this catches the audiences attention and it could make them sing along or even understand what the song is about. (Lyrical Video from The Chainsmokers - Closer) Extending or consolidating   - Extending or consolidating a song's meaning in a music video is when you use symbolism and things in the mis-en-scene to further push the meaning of the song or to add more of a meaning to a song or to just bring the lyrics together into a visual explanation of what the song actu...

Research Of Own Film

Name Of Film: Too Brisk, Too Quick The idea i have for making this film is a sequel of a group of people racing and also it will involve action too (bringing down villains and enemies). I hope to base my film on the famous "Fast And Furious" franchise as it is such an eye popping film and it is very interesting. Production Companies Orignal Film Relativity Media One Race Films Media Rights Capital Perfect World Pictures EuropaCorp TF1 Films Production Genre Of Film I am going to make a movie based on racing but also an involvement of Action & Drama too. The reason why i am including sub-genres is because a movie with just cars and racing could potentially become boring to most of the viewers and to avoid this from happening is by adding different scenes in to add excitement and stimulate more adrenaline through the viewer. Also by adding more genres to this film would help the film have more of a meaning to why it was made other than just cars racing for...

Single Camera Production Assignment

Introduction Single camera production is the use of one camera within the media production, whether it be a music video, short film or even a movie. Single camera production also tends to use different camera angles and often requires a lot of editing after shooting. Single camera production is commonly associated with low budget films & film companies as they haven't got sufficient funding to purchase many high quality cameras for a film production. Advantages & Disadvantages Of Single Camera Production The advantages of a single camera production is that it makes the viewer feel like they are in the scene with one continuos shot. This encourages the viewer to feel more emotions than a film with more than one camera because the use of one camera establishes that the viewer is at the exact scene in real time. Another advantage is that it is cheap, this is good for low budget film producers as they don't have as much money to purchase more than one camera. Consideri...
