Music Video Through The Ages

1920s - Music Video Was Only Shot In One Place And One Continuous Scene

1929 - more scenery was shown with various amount of people in it.

1957 -  close shot and long shots developed giving the viewers a clearer view of how the singer/person is feeling. more camera movement is involved as well.

1960s - a narrator with words printed on a paper was a new style for music videos in the 60s, as the singer would sing, the narrator shows the main words out of the pile of papers he got. usually the main words were the end of each line which would gain the viewers attention.

1966 (The Beatles) - the music video now has colour and it has different video effects which include cutting, fading & box shifting, which helps the video to be more entertaining than standard to the rest of the music videos in that year.

1970s - bits in the music video where the singers don't show their whole body, only their faces were shown which is caused by the lighting or some visual effect done by computers.

1980s - green screening was used, a range of different scenes were shot.

1990s - high quality recordings, more environmental interactions with emotions of people. more dancing was involved too, also a a story telling sequence was involved.

2000s - new fashion introduced since new millennium, far way more video effects, black and white, colour & sepia scenery. usually funny and humorous.

2016 - slow mo, dark scenes, flashing lights, real life locations.

Evaluation

1. I think my audience's expectation would be something that catches their attention to the eye. They would expect to see a plot that encourages adrenaline which would spark the "action" to progress in the film. Commonly in an action films my audience would love to see popular stars name on the billing block before they watch the movie because it gives them a brief idea of how this movie could be like if they watch it. For example, they would base my movie on the way that actor has given a certain amount of energy to previous movies and it would encourage/discourage the audience to watch my film. In addition to that, I have included a lot of big stars to my movie so i have no doubt that my audience would be discouraged to watch my film. 2. The emotional response i would love to receive from my target audience is excitement because my movie will contain "ooh ahh" scenes and unrealistic events happening but at the same time i wouldn't want to encourage my vie...

Single Camera Production Assignment

Introduction Single camera production is the use of one camera within the media production, whether it be a music video, short film or even a movie. Single camera production also tends to use different camera angles and often requires a lot of editing after shooting. Single camera production is commonly associated with low budget films & film companies as they haven't got sufficient funding to purchase many high quality cameras for a film production. Advantages & Disadvantages Of Single Camera Production The advantages of a single camera production is that it makes the viewer feel like they are in the scene with one continuos shot. This encourages the viewer to feel more emotions than a film with more than one camera because the use of one camera establishes that the viewer is at the exact scene in real time. Another advantage is that it is cheap, this is good for low budget film producers as they don't have as much money to purchase more than one camera. Consideri...

Proposal & Pitch (For Film)

I believe that my film poster strongly targets my audience because it includes pictures of a few of the stars which shows them looking straight directly at you. The background image especially with Megan Fox, i feel like this strongly targets the audience because it would encourage them to look more into the poster or even want to watch the film itself. The use of adding cars to the poster also targets my audience to give them an idea of what exactly this film is going to be about. The use of Kevin Spacey is very unique and also different to the rest of the characters on the poster because he is along the main characters but then again he isn't on their side since he is the villain. Comparing Kevin Spacey to other films such as Swimming With Sharks, Superman Returns & Horrible Bosses, he is always associated with the villain role and this could lead to the people viewing the poster knowing that Kevin Spacey is the villain in this film. I've decided to use a dark lighting as...
