David Assignment (Cadbury Gorilla Ad, Coca-Cola Ad, Galaxy Chocolate (Duet))

Cadbury dairy milk advert (featuring. Phil Collins & Gorilla) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnzFRV1LwIo This advert has been around for ages and i find it memorable by the song & the gorilla that is playing the drums in the background. The song is composed and written by Phil Collins and the tracking title is called "In The Air Tonight". This advert also advertises the famous Cadbury Milk chocolate, but the funny thing is the chocolate wasn't shown whilst the gorilla was playing on the drums… The only time the chocolate was shown was at the end of the advert. From this sort of format the company decided to use the gorilla to catch our attention and then stick on the main bit of advertising at the end with the chocolate to give us the understanding of the whole advert. Purposes of Music Videos Music videos have a purpose and they have a variety of meanings according to the genre of the song too. Some music videos are created to promote the artist, promote the record label, the album or even the song itself. In my report I'm going to talk about how 6 different music videos have 6 different purposes in the industry today. Promotion of an artist's album Promotion of an artist's album can occur through their own record company, a YouTube account or even the song itself being released in to mainstream radio or performed at live events.
